Lytebuy Launches Beta to Drive Foot Traffic to Main Street Small Businesses
PLACERVILLE, Ca. Sep 10th, 2026
Lytebuy today announced the beta launch of its local commerce platform, designed to bring shoppers through the doors of independent Main Street businesses. The beta opens first in Placerville, California, where Lytebuy is working directly with downtown shops to put them in front of nearby customers.
Unlike online marketplaces that pull spending away from town, Lytebuy is built to send people back to the storefront. Shoppers can discover local businesses on an interactive map, follow the shops they love, and redeem in-person deals with a QR code at the counter. Participating businesses get a free storefront page and simple tools to publish promotions, with no advertising budget required.
"Main Street businesses give a town its character, but they're competing against chains with enormous marketing budgets," said Scott Dean, founder and CEO of Lytebuy. "Lytebuy gives them a way to reach the people who live and shop right down the street, and gives those people a reason to walk in."
Placerville was chosen for the beta because of its active, locally owned downtown. Lytebuy is onboarding businesses by invitation during the beta and will use what it learns to expand to additional Main Streets across the country.
