Main streetin your pocket.
Lytebuy puts the shops, makers and kitchens of your town on the map and hands business owners the same reach the giants pay millions for.
Why Vendors Prefer Lytebuy
It is a no-brainer to sell on lytebuy.
More of every sale stays with the person who made it. Pick an order size and see what the big marketplaces take out of the same sale, using each platform's own published fee schedule.
| Platform | Fee | Share of the order | Extra cost compared with lytebuy |
|---|---|---|---|
| lytebuy | $3 | 4% | n/a |
| Groupon | $22.50 | 30% | $19.50 more |
| Amazon Handmade | $11.25 | 15% | $8.25 more |
| eBay | $10.60 | 14.1% | $7.60 more |
| Etsy | $7.58 | 10.1% | $4.58 more |
On a $75 order, lytebuy takes $3. The same sale on Groupon costs $22.50 - $19.50 more out of the same order.
Who pays for the servers. Someone has to keep the lights on, and that is what the 4% at checkout pays for - not a cut of your craft. The buyer pays it, not you. On Etsy, eBay and Amazon that cut comes out of the seller's side.
Card processing is not included. Stripe's fee is absorbed by the vendor on lytebuy, exactly as it is on the other platforms here, so leaving it off every row keeps the comparison fair.
Groupon has no published rate. It is negotiated per merchant. The bar uses the middle of the 20-40% range in Groupon's own worked examples, and their commission sits on top of the discount the merchant funds. Vendors are also paid only when a voucher is redeemed, not when it sells.
Not charted. Faire and Shopify are left out on purpose - wholesale (brand to retailer), not retail; a storefront the vendor rents and must drive their own traffic to, not a marketplace with built-in demand.
Our mission
A small business network, not a marketplace giant.
Do good, make friends, eat good food, share stories, share love, repeat.
Lytebuy exists to correct an imbalance. A woodworker, a baker or a record shop should be able to reach the people a few streets away without handing a fortune to an advertising machine. We keep the barrier low, the fees honest, and the money circulating where it was earned.
